AMC brings us a more intense and layered Into the Badlands with Season 4. This time, Sunny (Daniel Wu) must navigate a world stripped of clippers, trying to preserve his legacy while facing the ruthless Widow (Emily Beecham) and the deceptive schemer Aidan Gillen. The season is a blend of old-school martial arts and new-world struggles, as power dynamics shift and alliances are tested.

The choreography remains a highlight, with some unforgettable wire-fu sequences, particularly in the bamboo forest. Nathaniel Blume’s score perfectly complements the action, adding a rich, Eastern fusion feel. Wu’s emotional depth and the tension-filled performances by Beecham, Gillen, and Bruce elevate the stakes. However, while the battles remain intense, the rush toward the finale leaves some character arcs feeling a bit underdeveloped.
